My Teachers

One of my greatest musical influences has been Frank Crisafulli whom I studied with at Northwestern University from 1985-1989. Every day I focus on Mr. Crisafulli’s straightforward approach to the instrument and singing style.

Also pictured below is Art Linsner, who also taught trombone at Northwestern University in the 1980’s, and Erik Carlson, who taught at Temple University.

Eric Carlson was a great inspiration to me when I studied with him at Temple University. Eric’s captivating sound, clear musicality and sound fundamentals were truly remarkable. His teaching took me to a new level of awareness and refinement.
